Anti-Bullying For High School Girls (8)
Just recently I have been in a situation where there was bullying involved, and it made me cry a lot because of just two people. In a lot of elementary and middle school there is such thing as an anti-bullying policy. Well I have been in my high school for 8 months now, and I have not heard anything about an anti-bullying policy. I mean I could read about in my handbook, but that has been misplaced. About my situation of being bullied... I was on the Playbill or poster for my play of Cabaret, my teacher asked me if I would be willing to do it, and of course I said yes. My teacher did not let anyone know about this in my class because why would she need my classmates' permission? No, my teacher did not need their permission because teachers can make their own decisions. Well, here is where the bullying comes in. Two jealous students in my class decided that because my teacher was unfair, so they wanted to make a point. So, a couple of days after the posters were all around school, they decided to deface my posters. How you ask? They cirlced my nose, wrote curse words across my butt, crossed out my face, and crinkled them and turned them upside down. Talk about bullying. I was so upset, and my teacher was so furious that she pulled all of my performing arts into a room and yelled at our whole class and told them that owed me a lot of apologies. Which I totally agree with because not only did the poster thing upset me, but because everyone had rude and snotty comments. It was really upsetting that no one repected be because I am the only one in the Level 1's that actually does my job. After everyone left the room she pulled aside someone, and I would have never guesed that that girl would do something so terrible out of petty immature jealousy. Later in the day, I found out that there was another girl involved in it (who apparently gave her the marker) but I do not believe the girl only gave her the marker. I never thought that my school would let their guards down this much because the two girls didn't even get suspended at all, and the girls barely apologized. It is sickening. Especially since it was bullying I really thought that they would have gotten some kind of displinary act, but they didn't. And to think... that things like this or any kind of bullying is all over schools. I remeber when I was in 6th grade that there was an actual sign on the door that said "ANTI-BULYYING SCHOOL ZONE", but bullying went on all the time in that school. By writing this blog, I want to stop bullying all over, including high schools, because bullying or straight up tormenting someone is wrong. As Harvey S. Firestone once said, "Never be bullied into silence.Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself." This quote basically means that anyone can stop themselves from being bullied. He is trying to explain to you that you shouldn't just stand there when someone is about to bully you, ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! My inspiration to this blog is my experience with bullying and also what my dance teacher told me about one of her students. Miss Jamie Ginn, my dance teacher, otherwise known as former Miss Delaware, told me that one of her cutest 10 year old students had her frst experience with bullying. Miss Jamie was preparing Cassidy for a question for an upcoming pagaent, and the question was, "Cassidy, if you could do something to change the world at such a young age, what would that be?" and Cassidy's answer was something like this, "Well Miss Jamie, something I would like to do to change the world is stop bullying because at my school all the girls are always picking on me and calling me mean names because I like to do pagaents, and the boys are always hitting me. I want to stop bullying all around because boys and girls who bully other boys and girls because they must have a problem of their own. Helping them with their problems will help stop the bullying and I will be less picked on:)" I agree with Cassidy, at only 10 years old and she has already experienced something so petty and cruel as bullying, is pretty sad if you ask me. STOP BULLYING ALL AROUND!
By reading this blog I hope you can understand that bullying needs to be stopped because it is something very cruel and petty.
A Meaningful Gift (9)
What does meaningful mean to you? To me is from a person that knows you best, like family your best friend, or even your boyfriend. A meaningful gift that I got from my boyfriend was on February 14th, 2010. It was my favorite candy and also two bears. My favorite candy is m&m's and what I thought was so adorable was that he personalized the m&m's. The candies said things like, "Je T'aime," "Ti Amo Alexis," and "Mahal Kita." I also received a big card that expressed how much he it was happy to be with me. For Valentine's Day I gave him a baseball I got from Disney World and a bracelet with my name on it. Mine has his name on it with a special heart on it. A meaningful gift can be from anybody as long as it means something. I know that actually sound pretty corny, but it is true.
Morning Madness (10)
I usually have a full blown routine in the morning. It really depends on the hairstyle and if I am being taken to school. If I am straightening my hair and not being taken to school I would get up at approximately 5:10. I would then brush my teeth and have breakfast. After that I would go into my room and get dressed into my school uniform and do my makeup. That would usually take about 40 minutes so after that I would take the last twenty minutes to straighten my hair. That would take me to about 6:10 so I can be out to the bus by 6:15. Now it is a totally different story if I scrunch my hair aka make it curly. So, if I decide to make my hair curly, I am usually up by 5:45 and out to the bus by 6:20 and it basically the same routine just a different hairstyle and waking up at a different time. I realy like being taken to school because I get to sleep in an extra hour, and that means going to bed later!
